How It Works
- Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Connection is established directly via WebRTC P2P; optimized to work with host candidates on same network without STUN.
- Only matched parent accounts can discover and connect to streams.
- Stream start/signaling session is tracked live; polling fallback activates if Realtime misses.
Why no outside viewing over mobile internet? Because in BabyCam, our priority is security and privacy before speed. With same-network requirement and direct P2P connection, your stream does not pass through third-party servers and unauthorized external access risk is minimized.
Setup Tip
Open a partner account on the second device and accept invite via Parent Sharing. Viewer screen searches active streams only for accepted matches. On non-premium accounts, BabyCam screen is locked.
Streamer Device (BabyCamStreamScreen)
- When camera opens, screen stays awake and brightness is lowered automatically.
- Starts with rear camera (environment); connection status is tracked live.
- Viewer can remotely control sleep sounds on streamer device; battery level is shared with viewer.
Viewer Device (BabyCamViewerScreen)
- If no matching partner stream exists, it waits and auto-connects when streaming starts.
- You can talk to your baby using talk-back microphone.
- From sleep sound panel, you can control sounds on streamer, adjust volume, and use stop all.
Why Useful During Colic?
- Since viewer can send sleep sound commands to streamer, you can react quickly without entering room during crying.
- Instant transmission of your calming voice through microphone helps maintain routine, especially during night wakings.
- Battery and connection tracking reduce interruption risk during long watch periods.
